Summer activities 

Walking:

There are literally hundreds of miles of stunning well marked walks both for the beginner and the more experienced hiker. Whether the magnificent scenery or the many mountaintop forts it is well worth the climb. Route maps or guides are available and in the high season gondolas are available to give you a leg up to the first stage of the mountains. With the availability of local guides this is a very popular activity and a great way to work up an appetite for the local cuisine.

Golf:

International course that crosses into Italy. Play 9 holes in France and 9 in Italy. Competitions held every Sunday for the committed! Driving range and pitch and put course available for practice.

Horse riding:

Either in the Vallée de la Clarée or up into the mountains, 2 local riding stables offer excursions and supervision/training up through tracks and mountain forests.

Fishing:

There is both lake and river fishing. Licences are available from a morning to a season so you can fish for however long you want. In Resort (IR) + Out of Resort (OR)

Tennis:

There are 12 local tennis courts available for hire. IR

Swimming:

Montgenèvre has its own swimming pool open throughout the summer. Morning aerobic sessions are offered in the high season. IR

Gorge walking:

Just over the border in Italy is a long section of bridge. This exhilarating activity has great views. OR

White water rafting/ Kayaking:

Local rivers, filled with mountain water, provide an excellent location for this activity. There is a choice of locations and experienced local guides to take you down. OR  an excellent location for river kayaking. Local clubs provide all the necessary equipment or bring your own! OR

Other in resort (IR) activities include:

A mountain luge, boating lake, forest adventure climbing equipment, beach volleyball, children’s play area. New for this season: A beach! tons of sand are being brought in for the peak weeks of summer. A day by the beach up the mountains!!

In the area are other activities like go-karting/quad biking/zip wires/historical sites/floral gardens…

New for this season: A pass for 60euros (around £42) buys you a six morning pass for all the activities located in the resort with the exception of golf (the driving range is included).
