Summer activities-what a way to spend a day!
There are a whole variety of summer activities in and around Montgenevre -from adrenilin junkie activity, family persuits to more gentil activities. The activities -or the deckchair are all against the backdrop of some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world. It is all supported by a great range of accommodation and bars/restaurants that will make it a really memorable holiday.
Montgenevre has a growing reputation as one of the best downhill bike resorts in the area. With tracks to suit all abilities and lifts taking you and your bike up it is real fun for the whole family as well as the more extreme riders. The local pass ticket also gives you access to other bike parks in the area. There are literally hundreds of miles of stunning well marked walks/bike tracks both for the beginner and the more experienced hiker. Whether the magnificent scenery or the many mountaintop forts it is well worth the climb. Route maps or guides are available and in the high season lifts are available to give you and your bike a leg up to the first stage of the mountains.

Luge - Monty Express!
Unique in France, this toboggan run was installed in 2010.
Attached to a monorail - you descend 1400 meters downhill (the longest run in France) at a speed that you can control. It boasts spectacular views as you twist and turn through the mountain trees and truly is a must for any thrill seeker. Fun for the whole family - the ride is suitable for all ages, although under 7’s must be accompanied by an adult. Prices start from €9 per adult and €7 per child.
Either in the Vallée de la Clarée or up into the mountains, 2 local riding stables offer excursions and supervision/training up through tracks and mountain forests. It offers Beginner to Competent tuition from an hour to a full day. Families are welcome, with children as young as 3 able to participate.
Why not enjoy a spot of fishing in style - utilising the 2 lakes Montgenèvre offers, surrounded by the beauty of the Alps? There is both lake and river fishing. Licences are available from a morning to a season so you can fish for however long you want. Open from early May to mid-November depending on weather conditions.
The Durancia is Montgenevre's latest leisure complex, offering beautiful swimming facilities including spa and outside waterfall. Prices start from just €9 per adult/ for an hour and €4 per child/for an hour with under 3's swim free.
Montgenevre has its very own cinema, located in the Maison du Village. Open mostly in the evenings, we recommend you check out what's on and when in resort at the time of your visit. Prices are €8 per adult and €6 for concessions.
White water rafting/ Kayaking:
Local rivers, filled with mountain water, provide an excellent location for this activity. There is a choice of locations and experienced local guides to take you down. OR an excellent location for river kayaking. Local clubs provide all the necessary equipment or bring your own!
Grimp'in Forest - High Ropes:
Open throughout July and August from 10am - 6pm, Grimp'in Forest offers Adults and Children hours of fun on their High Ropes course.
If you have a car you may wish to explore other local areas which offer other activities such as: go-karting/quad biking/historical sites/floral gardens/shopping and more.
Registered and attached to the wrist of its owner, it is valid for 7 days from Saturday to Friday. The cost is €60 for children under 14 years and €80 for adults. The Pass allows unlimited but regulated access to the following activities:
• The practice of Golf: Open from 11am - 2pm
• The summer toboggan (1 Free admission every day during opening hours)
• The Télémix Chalmettes, Gondrans chairlift and gondola Chalvet - free access without restriction

Downhill Mountain Biking & VTT
Montgenèvre boasts its very own Bike Park which now covers an area from a height of 2760m high down to 1860m, an amazing free ride of 1000m through some of the most extreme runs you can imagine. The area includes 8 permanent downhill trails, 3 fun areas and 2 free-ride areas.
For those wishing to go down rather than make the climb the permanent downhill slopes are reachable via gondola and chairlift.
Permanent Trails: from the top of the Chalmettes (at 2200 m) 7 trails are available (green, blue, red and black) corresponding to the ski run ease of run (easy, difficult, very difficult and extreme!!!),
3 fun areas: the “Southshore Prarial” aimed at experts and confident riders, the “Southshore Sestrière” for beginners. These fun areas include obstacles and roller-coasters, bridges, step-up and road-gaps…
2007 saw the extension of the Bike Park to the Observatoire area, on the Gondrans side and the creation of an 8th green trail. This new run includes an initiation bridge as well as a free-ride zone easily accessible from the top of the Observatoire chairlift at 2450m.
The further extension of the Bike Park to the Italian part of the mountain, the Rocher de l’Aigle chairlift at 2760m, is open to walkers and mountain bikers. It leads to the Italian side of the mountain, Monts de la Lune, via the colletto verde, before heading back down to Clavière (Italy). On the French side, to go back down to Montgenèvre, a black trail has been created in the narrow Souréou valley, offering a free-ride space with a drop of nearly 1000m (2760-1860m).
Each year Montgenèvre hosts the VTT Downhill. Whatever your skill level you are going to enjoy a holiday with Go-Montgenèvre.
Each chalets comes with its own grounds for BBQ, outdoor activities and sunbathing but the resort has it's own bike park, descent trails, swimming pool, tennis courts, golf course, volley ball court, boating, bike parks, tree adventure trails, fishing all within a few minutes and a whole world to explore by car. Please note - in order to keep our accommodation prices down, our Summer prices do not include bedding and towels (duvets and pillows provided).
