Go Montgenevre Go Montgenevre

March & April in Montgenevre, loads of snow and even more sun!

Category: Seasons

Montgenevre is the oldest ski resort in the Alps, founded in 1907. It’s snow sure skiing, and family atmosphere have attracted people in the know for years, but the resort has enjoyed a renaissance recently thanks to it’s status as one of the most snow sure resorts in the alps. This is due to its unique valley layout, catching snow from both the north and south and its high starting altitude of 1850m. It boosts lift accessed skiing up to 2570m and over 3000m+ for those after adventure.

If like me, you are you prefer a warmer ski trip, March and April are the best months of the season to be in the mountains. Blue skies, white snow and wonderful warm sun - what could be more idyllic?! Montgenevre boosts a yearly average of over 300+ days of sunshine. When’s its not sunny, its snowing.

Springtime offers the perfect combination of a summer and winter holiday; you can top-up your desperately needed Vitamin D, whilst still getting to enjoy the fresh, cool snow and the fun and adventure of skiing or snowboarding. I love it.

As much as I relish the regular opportunity to ride insanely deep powder in Montgenevre and feel like I’m snowboarding on clouds; I have to admit to the part of myself that wants to be more adventurous; that enjoying sunshine on the veranda of a mountainside cafe, whilst sipping on a Bailey’s hot chocolate is an equally worthy desire – it’s important to refresh yourself on holiday, they say; unwind, refuel. So I’d be foolish not to.

That’s not to say I don’t hit the slopes hard! With the empty March pistes, freshly topped-up with snow, there’s so much to explore and discover every day. I can’t wait!

With the ski lifts open until 27th April, there is plenty of time to book in a last minute deal. Contact the team now.
